This research study is being conducted by researchers from Flinders University.

The purpose of this research is to engage with Australians to understand what they see as our big and complex or 'wicked' problems. Your thoughts about the wicked problems we face will help set the direction of research at Flinders University.

Wicked problems or challenges can be defined in many ways, but we like this definition:

            'Wicked problems are those that are complex, open-ended and unpredictable' (ANZSOG 2021).

Wicked problems or challenges are difficult to define, impact multiple stakeholders and require multiple and flexible solutions. For these reasons, wicked problems are sometimes referred to as 'sticky problems'. Wicked problems can be social, cultural, technical, environmental, or indeed a combination of some or all of these.
